Basic Needs Services

People's Community Services provides family resources that help meet the basic needs of those living in Hamtramck. In order to determine the success of these clients, a data tracking system is utilized that measures the types and quantity of services a client received and how successful a client is in achieving economic stability, educational goals, parenting skills, and a plan for the future. Families are serviced at the Hamtramck Neighborhood Center.

Clients receiving basic needs services have the opportunity to develop a self-sufficiency plan. People's Community Staff works with clients in devising a plan by developing goals to achieve. These short- and long-term goals give clients strategy and structure to reaching their self-sufficiency.

Through the basic needs services, People's Community Services helps clients with transportation, weatherization, utilities, medical needs, clothing, employment, shelter and food assistance.
