In partnership with the City of Detroit's Substance Abuse Prevention Initiative we are able to expose youth to alternative techniques for coping with anxiety and anger as opposed to using alcohol, marijuana and cigarettes. Youth groups meet at the Hamtramck Center, Delray Neighborhood House and various youth groups in the City of Detroit and surrounding Wayne County.

A Retreat for Women
The festivites began Friday night at the Hyatt Regency Dearborn Hotel with lots of mingling and get to know you fun. On Saturday, there were several dynamic speakers and a fabulous lunch. A free I-pod Touch, designer watch and other wonderful gifts were won by some attendees. Topics included: Choices that Make or Break Families, The Power of Words, Cloudy Thinking, Alcohol Myths and Realities, Put a Lid On It, and Change Begins with Me.
Saturday night the women had an informative and fun session called "Girl Talk". We also had a comedian on the agenda, Chanel Farris who provided a comedy show that was appropriate for all ages. The Liberty City Church of Christ Center Praise team also joined us help to set a positive tone for the evening.
